Many teams are embracing buidl during the bear market, and so is Carv. It was a very productive trip with many fruitful discussions. We are eager to share new alliances and partnerships with you soon!

From the Community
From day one, Carv has been building towards a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) with the mission of building a player-owned gaming identity. So what’s better than involving the community from the start, for the community, loved by the community?
This week, we launched the 2nd patch application for Carv Guardians program within our community, receiving hundreds of applications from more than ten countries. We have selected 33 Carvers to start their guardian trial run, coached by their guardian mentor (The best guardian from the 1st batch).
A few days back, we launched and released the first Guardian SBTs ready for Carving. In total, ~40 1st-level Guardian SBTs have been carved! Meanwhile, tons of new quests have introduced in two week spans, focusing on ease the effort for contribution.

We've updated Carv last week with a new feature on game details page that carvers have long been waiting for: Game Review System (more in product & tech update section below). More than 400 carvers wrote their reviews about games! Here's some highlights:

[Re. Thetan Arena] Different heroes have different cool skills. Each map is designed with great care and pleasing to the eye. The battle sound effect and the voice of heroes are also my favorite. The overall painting style of the game is high-quality and very playable.
The game style of ThetanArena is equivalent to the combination of multiple games. We can choose different playing methods and modes to meet the requirements of most people. When multiple people fight in real time, we can communicate with each other by voice, so that we can be more immersed in it and feel more fun in social interaction and fighting!

During the AMA, BurgerCities explained the connection between BurgerCities and BurgerSwap, what are the benefits for playing BurgerCities, What are some innovations and highlights to BurgerCities compared to the other metaverse games, and What are your long-term plans and goals?
We invited Travis Wu, Highstreet CEO, to share more about Highstreet. Highstreet and Animoca Brands recently collabrate for IHO. More than 2647 carvers stay tuned.

Product & Tech Update
Carv has been hard at work creating the best web3 experience for our users and partners. Although the decentralized ecosystem constantly evolves, staying true to our vision is something Carv prides itself on. With that in mind, we are excited to share some of our significant upgrades.
Launched SBT(soulbound token)-based game review system
We've updated Carv last week with a new feature on game details page that carvers have long been waiting for: Game Review System. During the first phase, all carvers on Carv leaderboard in each game, community contributors and alpha carvers are invited to post reviews in the alpha test. We will open access to all carvers later this month.
These SBT-based game reviews allow players to provide direct feedback for the game they're playing and give a rating on a 10-point scale. In addition, reviewers will also provide their thoughts on whether the game is fun to play and on whether the game will propsper in the long run.
Our primary goal is to help carvers understand a game more fully and make an informed decision when considering whether to play or invest in a new game. To achieve that goal, we've made a requirement that reviewers have actually played the game, as represented by their in-game achievement badges. Other carvers can also react thumb up or thumb down to reviews to express their opinions.
Carv score algorithm enhancement
Previously a player's Carv score is based on the achievement badges they unlocked on Carv platform, regardless of whether they have actually carved them or not.
In this update, only unlocked and carved badges are taken into score calculation. (So if you haven't carved your badge, you should do it now!) The purpose of the change is to align Carv score more with the core of Carv's mission, to build a player identity based on SBTs.
After the update, most carvers will notice an increase in their score, about 3 times more than their previous one.
Expect game review system phase 2 as well as the luanch of game discovery pages soon.
Game Discovery & Listing
With so many games out there, it’s practically impossible for one to try them all. In comes Carv’s Weekly Game Discovery. This week, we summarized the cream of the crop, top 4 blockchain games that excite us. See our summry below and analysis here.
With captivating storyline and stunning aesthetics, Parallel brings the trading element back to card games via NFTs both gamers and collectors alike actually want to own. Parallel’s storyline really got us hooked.
A comedic take on characters driven by AI in the NFT game. You can tell the Mecha Fight Club team is having fun, and that fun is contagious. These roosters & hens NFTs are one of its kind.
With its third token catering to guild members, Apeiron’s tokenomics model could be trendsetting. We talk more about Apeiron’s tri-token model here.
Carv Research
Carv aims to be the enabler and buildr for the entire gaming ecosystem spanning both web2 and web3. Occasionally we will share our thoughts on different stakeholders in the GameFi ecosystem. We see these as conversation starters to spark great discussion.

Crypto Snacks
[Analysis] Interesting breakdown of web3 gamer archetypes by Vader Research, outlining in addition to making an entertaining game, web3 games need to evaluate which player types they would want to have in their game, thereby keeping the players/community happy to maximize LTV. A healthy, sustainable economy is a core aspect of GameFi that Carv is actively designing.
