You might hear tons of negative news regarding FTX.com and SMF saga, and witness its impact on crashing the market. But the web3 penetration won't stop by that, last week still marks piles of great news, in case you missed it:
1. FIFA has unveiled a portfolio of four future-focussed web 3.0 games for your World Cup Qatar 2022
The World Cup kicked off on Sunday with an eye-catching opening ceremony at Al-Bayt Stadium before the first game between the hosts Qatar and Ecuador. While football games attract the whole world's attention physically, FIFA is trying to expand into new digital spaces.
FIFA just released its four new games integrations, they are:
Uplandme - FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Metaverse
Matchday - Engaging casual social prediction game based on football cards
Phygtl - An immersive experience fans join forces on with the mission to co-create the global first fan generate digital reward.
Altered State Machine - a 4-on-4 casual AI football game, players act as the coach and owner of their AI teams
FIFA was further commended that:
"Gaming and esports are some of the fastest-growing opportunities for FIFA as it continues to expand into new digital spaces, platforms and games that are already welcoming football fans on to them."

For sure, as Qatar 2022 the first World Cup to connect with Web3, it's just a matter of time before all major sports league to seriously consider embracing web3 and the crypto world!
2. PlayStation Sony's new patent to use NFT Tech for Keeping Track of in-Game Digital Assets
Wait? what? PlayStation shall implement NFT tech?
Sounds promising! Electronics giant Sony has published a patent suggesting the company is looking into blockchain and NFT technology for tracking in-game assets in video games.
The new patent is called "Tracking Unique In-Game Digital Assets Using Tokens on a Distributed Ledger", and the accompanying picture outlines the mechanics for keeping track of changes in the ownership, visual appearance, or metadata of digital assets.
It's worth pointing out that PlayStation filed this patent in July of 2021 before the greater controversy surrounding NFTs came to the forefront. NFT speculation has been a big part of the video game news cycle in 2022 beyond just PlayStation. GameStop introduced a crypto/NFT wallet and EA continues to evaluate the technology.
Imagine purchasing NFT on PlayStation or let's go further, owning your achievements through SBT on PlayStation, CARV shall push that from the imagination into reality one day 🤩
