Oct 09 CARV Newsletter | Steam Integrations, Games on AVAX, LOL Tournament with The Godfather, and more
Hi CARVers,
Fresh from meeting new and old friends at Token 2049 in Singapore, the CARV team will be heading to Devcon in Columbia to continue fruitful conversations and partnerships. Meanwhile, CARV's community, product, and events continue to be developed and thrive.
We share these developments here in our bi-weekly newsletter, as well as some insights and fun finds in the rapidly evolving web3 gaming ecosystem. Our newsletter has now more than 5k+ subscribers! If you haven't, be sure to subscribe to stay up to date. Enjoy!
From the Community
The past two weeks were packed with great memories in the community. We at CARV are all fascinated by how many great community ideas we can co-create if you are part of the CARV family!
Our Guardians Priests (community managers) organized our first ever community tournament. A team named MAKKING, led by one of our finest Guardian Makki, won the League of Legend tournament in our community and even represented CARV to participate cross-community tournament between CARV and E4C: Final Salvation! It was a fun and competitive game, the whole game was live-streamed on Youtube with more than 2000+ watched it live and 1000+ audience badge CARV-ed.
Our Gaurdians Paladins (content creators) have also started creating in-depth and informative articles. They dived deep into the AVAX and Animoca ecosystem, sharing their takes on games they are most excited about. These articles were well-received. Some game partners even reached out to us hoping our community could tailor some professional contents for them. See Game Discovery section below for more.
Product & Tech Update
Hope you've enjoyed the new Games section we shipped mid September. Since then, we have released a number of bug fixes and improved user experience on mobile devices. On the backend, we are also working on infrastructure improvements in support of our Events Page beta launch, NEAR event badge CARVing capability, and Steam Integration!
Events Page
The event listing page and the event details page have been redesigned to improve display of information and clarity of instructions.
On the event listing page, you can find the most important information about ongoing events, such as rewards, qualifications and timeline, without having to open each event's details page. You can even carv your badge directly from here if you're qualified. The new event calendar on the side will give you a clear view of the awesome events in the lineup.
We also added a section for the Dragonball program on the event listing page, which offers much convenience for carvers to track upcoming community quests and claim their dragonball fragments.
The event details page has a very different look. It now gets its own page (instead of a popup!) and displays event information in a more structured way. You can also see which carvers participated in the event.
Badge Carving on NEAR
So far we have supported badge carving on EVM-compatible chains and Solana. Now we're happy to announce that event badges can also be carved on NEAR! Remember to bind your wallet and look forward to a series of events hosted by games on the NEAR network.
Steam Integration Soft Launch
Carv has integrated with Steam to allow carver to link their Steam account to Carv profile. You can do so under the Account page and further enrich your gaming credentials.
Partnerships and Events
Recently, CARV's team went to TOKEN2049 in Singapore to catch up with old friends and meet some partners. We were excited to see a lot of projects thriving during the bear market by building their own gaming verse or pivoting for the community. More alliances and partnerships with new partners will be announced soon!
Additionally, CARV has reached partnership agreements with Deesse, Eizper Chain, Genopets, Alterverse, and NEAR games, including Metamon, Battlemon, Crystals Of Naramunz, Amber, and World of the Abyss.
Events Highlights
Deesse x CARV Gamenight & AMA
We co-hosted the Twitter Space AMA with the CMO of Deesse Andrea Falcinelli, with almost 2K people tuning in and carving their badges. During the chat, Andrea shared his philosophy on entering the Web3 world and introduced us to the design choice of Deesse.
CARV also ran gamenights from Sept 24-24 with Deese. More than 700 people participated and the event lasted for more than 4 days. Winners are yet be announced according to the leaderboards! Participants were able to go deep into the gameplay offered by the Deese, be educated on the game mechanics, and had an overall sublime gaming expereince.
Heroes Lineage x CARV AMA
Lineage is a medieval fantasy themed NFT game focused on strategic combat and group multiplayer content. The world of Heroes Lineage will be divided into zones full of challenges and adventures. More than 2000+ people tuned in and listened to our AMA. During the AMA, Ivan Martinez, the CEO of Heroes Lineage, revealed some secret features which shall be released later this year.
Genopets x CARV AMA
The AMA is co-hosted with Jay Chang, the CMO and co-founder of Genopets. During the AMA, Jay came up with this great idea: walking on the treadmill while hosting the AMA, and letting audience guess how many steps he walked by the end. We discussed GameFi and Move2Earn market changes and what Genopets has been focusing on recently. More than 2000+ people tuned in to our AMA and 1000+ of them CARVed the collaboration badge, with 50 lucky winners selected as the beta tester of Genopets.
Eizper Chain x Carv AMA
Two AMA's in a day, we invited Wiryanto, head of partnership of Eizper Chain into our community to co-host the AMA. Wiryanto explained to us the philosophy behind designing the game, and shared with us some insights on the Indonesian gaming market. There are more than 60 million gamers in Indonesia and it's the 16th largest market in the world. 1700+ people tuned in to the AMA and 1000+ people carved the collaboration badge between Eizper Chain and Carv.
CARV x AmbrusStudio Community Tournament (League of Legends)
The highlight of the week goes to the LOL tournament between CARV (MAKKING) and AmbrusStudio's community, with the participation of "The Godfather of Esports" in Asia, Johnson Yeh himself! More than 2000 people tuned in, with the entire competition streamed on YouTube and Huya. 1200 members from the community participated in the Snapshot. Results: you can't cheat the Godfather.

Game Discovery & Listing
With so many games out there, it’s practically impossible for one to try them all. That’s why we started Carv’s Weekly Game Discovery.
Last newsletter, we shared with you up and coming games under the Animoca umbrella. This week, we would like to focus on web3 games embracing Avalanche, a green carbon, high speed layer-1. Check them out here and here. Since CARV and NEAR are co-hosting a series of campaigns for games on NEAR, naturally you should expect some deep dives into games on NEAR soon.
