Hi CARVers,
It has been a busy couple weeks for the CARV team. Part of the CARV team went 2,600 meters closer to the stars, and attended Devcon in the beautiful city Bogotá, capital of Colombia. It was a warm global family reunion for CARV, rekindling old partnership and engaging in new, exciting conversations about the ecosystem. Read on to hear more about these conversations, and updates from community, product, and events.
We share these developments here in our bi-weekly newsletter, as well as some insights and fun finds in the rapidly evolving web3 gaming ecosystem. Our newsletter has now more than 5.5K+ subscribers! If you haven’t, be sure to subscribe to stay up to date. Enjoy!
Product & Tech Update
Updates
Game Review v2
The long awaited updates to Game Review are finally here. This feature receives several enhancements that make it more interactive and informative.
Carvers can now reply to reviews, and also to replies under reviews, and also to replies to replies under reviews... You get it. You can have a whole thread of conversation under any review.
We also added two graphs that help Carvers better understand how a game's rating changes over time. First is the Rating Trend graph that tracks how the average rating changes week over week. Second is the Rating Distribution Trend graph that tracks what percentage of the reviews are positive, neutral and negative on a weekly basis.
Try hover over reviewer's avatar and you will see a new Carver Card that pops up. It will give a sneak peak of their profile like Carv score, game stats and ranks, without having to go to their Profile page.

Partnerships and Events
We have had tons of collaboration announcements in the last two weeks! From games and guilds on NEAR ecosystem (Human Guild, Metamon, Battlemon, Crystals Of Naramunz, World of the Abyss, Amber), Oasys, the gaming blockchain optimized for gamers, some of the big names in gamefi including Apeiron, Splinterlands, to uprising games such as ArchLoot. We've come a long way! More collaboration announcements will be revealed for the upcoming two weeks!👀
NEAR mega campaign
To celebrate our collaboration with NEAR and games built on NEAR, we launched a mega campaign with Human Guild, NEAR foundation, and five games on NEAR!
We kicked off by hosting two panel AMAs with all our partners from NEAR ecosystem. More than 1000 people joined, and started to find out more about the hidden gem, if you missed it, you can find the AMA recaps here thanks to our guardians cgzdavid#1639, Burnny#2239 & dairycow小奶牛#1466:
Vol.16 NEAR 2nd panel AMA Recap
Besides AMA, we also carried out five individual campaigns with each game. You can find all the details at Carv event page!
NEAR x Carv Mega Campaign (Metamon)
NEAR x Carv Mega Campaign (Battlemon)
NEAR x Carv Mega Campaign (World of the Abyss)
NEAR x Carv Mega Campaign (Crystals of Naramunz)
NEAR x Carv Mega Campaign (Amber)
For those who participated in all seven campaigns, you can carv a bonus Mega badge, which is redeemable for five Dragonball fragments! 169 carvers owned this exclusive one, hurray!
AMAs
Besides two panel AMAs with NEAR, we've done another six AMA with our old & new friends.
We celebrated Galaxy Arena's upcoming TGE with the AMA on Oct.13, where Galaxy Arena shared their vision for future development updates and TGE details.
For the Oct.15 Apeiron one, co-founder Frank told carvers about Apeiron, the unique tri-tokenomics and the upcoming star NFT sale. More than 1.4K carver tuned in, what a blast!
Also COO Ri Ri from Scrappy Penguins & Penguin Karts joined our Discord AMA on Oct.18. Sadly a few hours before AMA and one day before the mint, Scrappy Penguins official twitter account got suspended. But Ri Ri's optimism and positive energy is invincible to all blockers along the way.
One of the highlights in Carv x Oasys AMA is that @domidom88 & @0xDaiki shared their blockchain perspectives of how to help gaming studios and indie game developers in the Web3 world.
If you missed the AMA, here's the recording here.
For Archloot x Carv AMA, CEO Jonathan shared all details about the game development, the backstory of the game name, and the upcoming CBT3.
Splinterlands x Carv AMA is another great one, as 1.5K audience tuned in to this one of the most popular games in Web3. A great game cannot thrive without its robust community, and definitely Splinterlands community is strong!

Devcon!
In line with Ethereum Foundation’s visions, CARV co-hosted a side event with Mask Network and Delysium in Bogota and invited a global family reunion to celebrate innovation, post-merge ethos, and creativity for all.
This event, titled “The Future of Human Connection,” was geared toward Ethereum and web3 builders, thinkers, and game developers who wish to shape the future world and how humans connect to each other through DIDs, games, and other web3 innovations.
As a keynote speaker, CARV shared our views on large opportunity unlocked via gaming focused data warehouse as well as interoperatble gamer's ID infrastructure, and hosted the panel “How Web3 Change Communication & Identity? Other keynote also speaks themed around AI games, gaming identity, personal data ownership, and how to collaborate with local communities in South America.

We prepared a 3d commemoration NFT badge for everyone who came to the event!

Carv Research
Over the past couple weeks, the Carv team has conducted and published research on blockchain gaming, specifically, the increased verticalization of NFT marketplaces. We are seeing blockchain gaming become an important contributor to overall blockchain activity, despite the drop in volume across marketplaces. Additionally, with the increased capital going into web3 gaming projects, the opportunity to build marketplaces catering to specific gaming catalogues or to a specific game, is more attractive than ever before. You can read the full report here.
Crypto Snacks
